The heart project
This project is part of the Research Project RE: UrVaM (Regeneration of Vulnerable Urban Spaces in Madrid) carried out by the European University of Madrid on behalf of the Madrid City Council.
The project begins as a renovation of the electric poles which are placed along Aluche Park, Cerro Mica Park and La Cuña Verde Park, after the dismantling of the electric power station. A canopy walk is designed. It will connect the electric poles with bridges and zip lines between them, offering the possibility of visualizing the tree tops at different heights.
The canopy walk joins the heart-shaped gymnasium. This gym symbolizes well-being and physical exercise, and attempts an urban integration and urban renewal of the whole area.
